After successfully obtaining the separatists' encrypted database from their hideout at Mannett Point, Voidhound returned to Fort Garnik and met with Viidu. Viidu said that they needed time to slice the data with the kit Corso had found. In order to delay Rogun as long as possible, Viidu sent the smuggler to the neighboring village of Oradam to fetch a canister of special chemicals, which Corso called "Big Boom Run". Viidu explained that a loopy scientist named Trymbo who lived in the village had a chemicals capable of supercharge artillery cannons - Viidu intended to sell chemicals to Rogun, who would sell it to the Republic. Corso warned that these chemicals were less stable than a drunken savrip on a speeder bike, and Voidhound had to be extremely careful. Viidu said that he was confident that the captain had the skills to handle the job, and out of respect for the captain, he wouldn't even haggle down Voidhound's fee. The Voidhound agreed to the plan, and Corso asked the captain to meet him before the departure.Voidhound met with Corso, who said that the Big Boom Run isn't a stroll on the beach and Voidhound would need an edge to make it back alive. Corso gave Voidhound his first weapon - SoroSuub SSK heavy blaster named Flashy - saying it could bulls-eye a savrip between the eyes five times before the critter even knew it was dead. Voidhound thanked Corso and went outside. While traveling across Avilatan Badlands, Voidhound met with Meteor and together they helped to fix one of the power generators. Along the road they ran into several Mantellian army soldiers who organized ruthless and deadly deadly contest among refugees on the minefield and decided to report them to the command at Fort Garnik as soon as they returned. In Oradam village, the smuggler went to Trymbo's house. There Voidhound found Trymbo's wife, Loonda, who was cooking, she informed the smuggler that Trymbo was out fishing at the beach. At the fishing camp on the beach, it quickly became obvious Trymbo was delusional, talking about gundark friends, Alderaanian stew, claiming his wife died 20 years ago and Ugnaught assassins in the woods attacking everyone who visits him. Despite the situation, the smuggler did get the chemicals from Trymbo and went back to the village. While in the village, Meteor and the Voidhound agreed to help a merchant whose daughter had been unjustly arrested by the Mantellian army, and took on a mission from Gizmel Gam, a Central Authority official, to find and retrieve a lost shipment of supplies on Savrip Island. After returning from the island where they also helped Sergeant Pott and completed on of the mission for the government they took on earlier at the fort, they completed their business with Gam and headed back to Fort Garnik. Returning to Fort Garnik, the operatives completed their mutual tasks there and again parted, setting off to carry out their personal tasks.Voidhound returned to Rendia HQ and handed over the chemicals to Viidu, who carefully placed them in a special storage to avoid an explosion. Viidu thanked Voidhound, adding that the chemicals would buy them some time - as long as Rogun was busy selling them, he wouldn't have much time to worry about stolen blasters. |
